We signed an agreement on cooperation with the largest union of youth associations in Africa

The National Council is expanding the geography of cooperation! During the visit of the Chairperson of the Association Grigory Petushkov to New York UN headquarters, an agreement on cooperation between the National Youth Council of Russia and the Panafrican Youth Union was signed.

«We like the Pan-African Youth Union are ready to cooperate with different organizations as the World Federation of Democratic Youth and the European Youth Forum in the preparation of the main event for the youth of the world in Russia this year, as well as in the development of the bilateral cooperation with the National Council to strengthen the dialogue of Russian and African youth!»- Said the Chairperson of the Union Francine Muyumba.

The agreement emphasizes the special role played by youth in shaping the agenda on the international arena, as well as the importance of the strengthening the international youth cooperation. According to the document, the parties agreed to develop multilateral and diversified cooperation, to promote the social integration of Russian and African region youth, to develop volunteer programs and exchange programs, to promote the dissemination of information on current issues of youth and negotiation of conceptual approaches to their solution; contribute to the strengthening of intercultural dialogue.

Panafrican Youth Union is the largest union of youth associations in the entire African continent. It operates from April 26, 1962 and aims to consolidate the youth of the region around the ideas of freedom, peace, democracy and sustainable development in Africa. To date, the Union includes 54 member-states.
