The course has been held since 2014.
It is an integral part of the action plan for the implementation of the Framework programme cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Council of Europe in the field of youth policy. The organizers of the training course are the National Council of Youth and Children’s Associations of Russia jointly with the Youth Department of the Council of Europe with the support of state authorities of the Russian Federation.
The purpose of the project — to improve the quality of educational activities in the field of youth in the Russian Federation through the development of competences of trainers in the field of non-formal education and intercultural learning.
Project’s participants — young people aged 18-35, with experience in carrying out and / or the organization of educational activities as facilitators, trainers, moderators, co-trainers at the local, national or international level, as well as having work / experience of cooperation with the non-profit organization and / or government agencies working with youth in the area.
The training course involves a long-term and open type of studying. The programme is formed in such a way as to ensure maximum participation of the group and every participant, to provide an opportunity to learn not only theoretical material, but also to try practical skills by means of training youth in the form of non-formal education. Mentoring is provided by the team of trainers throughout the course as a support measure for training participants. There is also an institutional support during internship.
The training course consists of three stages:
- Introductory phase (7 days)
The main objectives of this stage is to familiarize participants with the principles, approaches and practices of non-formal education among young people, to form motivation to improve the quality of non-formal education and to develop coaching competence as well as to familiarize with the methodology of design and carry out trainings in the field of non-formal education and intercultural dialogue.
- on-line training (10 months)
The online training goes through the platform of e-learning and contributes to a better knowledge and understanding of non-formal education of the participants. It is aimed at further development of the participants’ competencies and assist during internship.
- The final phase (7 days)
This step is intended to assess the degree of success and consolidate the experience gained in the framework of the training course. It includes elements of self-reflection and assessment, planning further education after the end of the training course.
