The European Steering Committee for Youth Affairs and the Joint Council for Youth Affairs of the Council of Europe meetings passed in Budapest

The Budapest European Youth Center hosted the 58th meeting of the European Steering Committee for Youth Affairs and the 36th meeting of the Joint Council for Youth Affairs of the Council of Europe from 27 to 29 March 2017. As part of the Russian delegation, Alexander Bolotnov, Deputy Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, took part in the meetings.
Within the framework of the agenda of the Joint Council for Youth Affairs, the following issues were raised: the promotion of democratic citizenship through innovative forms of youth participation; Youth participation and youth’s access to its rights; Promotion of inclusive and peaceful communities, as well as a panel discussion on joint management within the Council of Europe.
During the meetings of the Steering Committee, proposals were considered concerning the priorities of the Council of Europe in the field of youth policy for 2018-2019, as well as the Youth Strategy of the Council of Europe for the period 2020-2030.
It should be noted that the National Youth Council of Russia, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs have for many years been the main partner of the non-governmental sector in implementing the Framework Program for Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Council of Europe in the field of youth policy.
