National Youth Council of Russia expresses its sincere solidarity with our partner organizations in countries affected by COVID-19

03.04.2020

Hundreds of thousands of patients and tens of thousands of casualties have resulted from coronavirus infection, which is the Black Plague of the 21st century. The disease doesn’t care about gender, age, nationality or social status. Everything becomes irrelevant in the ugly face of pandemic.

Throughout history, human beings have faced many severe challenges: wars, natural disasters, deadly infections. Solidarity has always been the only salvation. Only by joining together people could overcome adversity and get back to normal life. It’s high time we recalled all the lessons we had been taught by history and united to solve a common problem.

We express our words of support to youth organizations, which, unfortunately, also found themselves in a difficult situation due to the pandemic. Their role and activities are very important nowadays, both to support young people at such critical moments and to mitigate the negative consequences that COVID-19 will inevitably have.

We appeal to everyone to abide by the quarantine, to isolate themselves and to follow all medical restrictions. We warmly thank the medical staff and all who are now doing their best to overcome this terrible virus. We also are very grateful to the volunteers of all countries for their help.

This letter is an expression of deep regret to the victims of COVID-19 and their families and a reminder to our partners that you can always count on our help and support.
