Today marks exactly 25 years of the National Youth Council of Russia. 8-governmental organizations came together on January 10, in 1992, in order to consolidate the efforts of the youth, children and other Russian NGOs for the successful implementation of community-oriented activities to promote the full and effective realization of the constitutional rights and freedoms of children and young people in Russia. The process of the National Council integration was supported by Presidential Decree №1075 dated 16 September 1992 «On urgent measures for the development of youth policy in the Russian Federation.»
All this time, we are working every day to fulfill our mission: bringing together youth and children’s organizations for responsible and constructive participation in the development of Russia. We bring together those who voluntarily serve the youth of Russia and considers service to the people and to the fatherland their vocation, their profession, their duty and the meaning of life, we are working with youth and children’s public associations from the various «parts» of Russia and of whole world, to those who speak single, international language of friendship, peace and harmony. National Council pays special attention to participation in the development of a national youth policy, actively cooperates with the state and society. We are carefully studying the world’s best practices in the field of youth policy, youth work, intercultural dialogue and other areas for analysis and possible application within the country, as well as form a positive image of Russian youth abroad, translating traditional Russian values.
The National Youth Council is recognized as the most representative body of youth and children’s organizations in the Russian Federation both domestically and abroad. The Association consists of more than 60 youth NGOs — and the all-Russian inter-regional public children and youth organization, the regional association of youth and children’s organizations. For 25 years, we did a great job: held many forums, round tables, seminars, many partnerships with status international organizations have been established, in particular, with the youth department of the Council of Europe. Of course, an important reflection of the activity of the National Council is its initiative, supported by the President Vladimir Putin, to host the World Festival of Youth and Students in Russia.
Each step in the development of the National Council took many efforts of lots of people and organizations. The whole 2017 will be a jubilee year for us, and we will tell you in detail about each step of our long journey. Thanks to all who are with us, who supports and helps those who stood at the origins, who, together with us, implement ideas and projects, who became not only partners, but true friends. It will be rich and challenging year and we sincerely wish us all good luck, inspiration and new victories during this period!
