On March 13, in accordance with the decisions of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS member states, a meeting of the Public Council of the CIS Basic Organization for work with Youth was held at the Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education “Moscow Technological University”.
Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia took part in the event. The guests of the event were: Head of the Office for the Humanitarian Cooperation and Youth Policy at the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation O. Evko; Adviser to the Advisor to the Deputy Director of the Department of State policy in the sphere of education of children and youth of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation I. Tarakanov; Head of the Office for Cooperation in the Humanitarian Sphere of the First Department of CIS Countries of MFA A. Shadsky, Director of the Resource Youth Center A. Lyubtsov; Vice-rector of the State University of Management S. Chuyev, and others.
The speakers were Rector of the Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education “Moscow Technological University”, head of the CIS Basic Organization for work with Youth S. Kudzh; Director of the Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations of the Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education “Moscow Technological University” G. Petushkov.
The rector of the Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education “Moscow Technological University” Stanislav Kudzh welcomed all present within the walls of the university. He noted that the university is recognized in Russia and in the world as a modern educational and research center and a platform for important international and youth events.
The Rector of Moscow Technological University recalled that in June 2016 a Meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State took place where one of the key decisions in the field of youth policy was the recognition of the Moscow Technological University as the Basic Organization of the CIS Member States for Working with Youth. «This is a great honor and responsibility for us!», he stressed.
G. Petushkov told about the work of the Basic Organization in 2017. He noted the following directions: development of an additional professional development program «Organization of work with young people in the CIS» and launching a corresponding distance learning course; holding a seminar for specialists in international humanitarian youth cooperation in the CIS area; launching and filling of the Unified Information Space System of the CIS Basic Organization for Working with Youth in the Internet, etc. Petushkov noted that today is the first meeting of the Public Council of The CIS Basic Organization for work with Youth. According to the Director of the Youth Policy and International Relations Institute of Moscow Technological University, the main objective of the Public Council is to contribute to the improvement of scientific, analytical, information and methodological support for specialists in working with young people in the CIS member states.
Within the framework of the meeting, they discussed a number of issues related to the work of the CIS Basic Organization for work with Youth, approved the work plan of the Basic Organization for 2018 and the composition of the Public Council of The CIS Basic Organization for work with Youth.
In addition, participants exchanged views on topical issues of the Organization’s activities. The meeting continued as the work of two specialized groups: on the drafting of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States in 2021-2030 and on the finalization of the list of indicators of the situation of youth and the processes taking place in the youth environment.
