We are closely following the developments in Venezuela, where the opposition forces with the help of foreign interference have recently sparked an internal political crisis driving the country towards the brink of the abyss.
Throughout these difficult times we stay in touch with our partners and friends in Venezuela. We express our support and full solidarity to Venezuelan youth in their struggle to maintain a legitimate regime and to live under the rule of law.
It is obvious that any political activity should be legitimate and carried out in compliance with the national legislation and the norms and principles of international law. Undoubtedly, everyone has a right to express their own opinion, however it should be done in a peaceful and legal way, without endangering human life and health.
These tragic events reaffirm the fact that the world has approached a dangerous line, and whether it crosses it or not depends on the youth. It is only consolidation of young people in their pursuit of a peaceful future that will help to overcome any political crisis as well as to counter arbitrary provocations that undermine the democratic foundations of society.
