About the session of Parliamentary Commission of social policy, science, culture and humanitarian issues

On 1 June the chairperson of National Youth Council of Russia Grigory Petushkov took part in the session of Parliamentary Commission of social policy, science, culture and humanitarian issues held in Mogilev (the Republic of Belarus). Presidium of the meeting consisted of the representatives of Permanent Committee of the Union State, Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the representatives of Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of both of the countries and the representatives of non-commercial organizations.

A detailed and constructive discussion was held on a broad range of issues. Such questions as the priority orientations of youth policy at the Union State, the state and social support of young people, the safeguards for the rights of labor among youths, the work with disadvantaged groups and the role of non-commercial organizations in the work with the rising generation were considered in the course of the meeting.

Grigory Petushkov reported about the work provided in Russia to develop and strengthen the dialogue between young people of two countries. He stressed an overriding concern of Russian-Belarusian Youth Forum aimed to elaborate the opportunities of youth non-commercial organizations of the Union State, to trigger the participation of youths in the process of decision making, to develop and implement bilateral projects in the area of youth policy.

During his speech Grigory Petushkov submitted the following offers: to keep up to date the intergovernmental agreement on youth policy between two countries in 1995; to mastermind common State youth policy strategy of the Union State; to establish an ongoing intergovernmental commission for youth policy.
