An extended meeting of the National Preparatory Committee of the World Festival of Youth and Students on March 3 at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. Among the participants were the Chairman of the Russian National Preparatory Committee (NPC) of the WFYS 2017 GrIgory Petushkov, Coordinator for the preparation and holding of the WFYS 2017, Director of the FGBI «Rospatriottcentr» Ksenia Razuvaeva, Chairman of the Federation Council’s working group on cooperation with the organizers of the WFYS 2017, Russian senator Elena Afanasyeva, Chairman of the Commission to support youth initiatives of the public Chamber of the Russian Federation Sangadzhi Tarbaev and representatives of the public and political organizations, members of the Russian NPC.
At the meeting the decisions of the Organizing Committee for the preparation of the youth festival was announced. NPC members discussed the progress in the development of the discussion program, the provisions for the selection of Russian participants, work of the regional preparatory committees. Working process with the regions will continue on March 4 and 5, in the framework of the II seminar-meeting with the leaders of the RPC in Ekaterinburg. Representatives of 85 subjects of the Russian Federation will meet to discuss the key issues of preparation of the WFYS 2017. During the second meeting the opening of the third Center of attracting and training volunteers for the Festival will take place.
Also on the agenda of the meeting the attention was paid to the competition for the creation of a corporate mascot of the festival. During the meeting of the National Preparatory Committee the International Association of Student Television; All-Russian public organization of small and medium business «Support of Russia»; Youth parliament at the State Duma were included.
XIX World Festival of Youth and Students will pass in October from 14 to 22 this year in Sochi and will bring together 20,000 young professionals in various areas from more than 150 countries. The events of the festival will be attended by young people aged from 18 to 35 years. In addition to the discussion program it will be sporting and cultural events for the participants.
