The Council of Europe and the Russian Federation summed up the results of cooperation in the field of youth policy in 2017
The meeting of the Steering Committee on preparation and management of the Action Plan for 2016-2017 implementation to the Framework Program of Cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Council of Europe in the field of youth policy for 2014-2018 concluded in Strasbourg.

The meeting was opened by the Permanent Representative of Russia to the Council of Europe, I. Soltanovsky and the head of the Directorate for Democratic Citizenship and Participation of the Council of Europe Matthew Johnson. In his welcoming speech I. Soltanovsky stressed the contribution of the Council of Europe to the development of youth policy in our country. Within the framework of the meeting, the results were summed up and the evaluation of the projects implementation in the outgoing year was made, as well as the recommendations for carrying out the activities in 2018. A discussion of priorities and key mechanisms for the implementation of cooperation in the following years (the program for the period 2019-2024) took place.

The Russian delegation included: Igor Mikheev, Director of the Department of State Policy in the Sphere of Education of Children and Youth of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia; Grigory Petushkov, Chairperson of the National Youth Council of Russia; Olga Popova, Deputy Chairperson of the National Youth Council of Russia; Asker Tapov, Adviser of the Department of Pan-European Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that in 2017 the cooperation of the Russian Federation and the Council of Europe in the field of youth policy celebrated its 25th anniversary.
