SDG 15 Youth Ambassador in Russia

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

Darina is a student in the Department of Environmental Management and Ecology at MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and an activist in clubs such as World Energy Policy and MGIMO Goes Green.

In 2019 Darina joined the team of SDGs Multipliers of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy of the Republic of Tatarstan. Under Darina’s leadership, the regional Spring Sustainability Week took place. She also supervises the regional implementation of the Global Week of Action for achieving the SDGs and is a member of the team from the Academy of Youth Diplomacy of RT at the XII International Economic Summit «Russia-Islamic World: KazanSummit».

In addition to teamwork within organizations, Darina independently conducts lectures and interactive events on ecology and sustainable development for children in schools in Moscow and Kazan. In addition, Darina is actively engaged in scientific activities: she is the author of two research papers on biodiversity of mycobiota of Tatarstan, on the basis of which the first Russian mycological trail was created, and she prepared a report on «Analysis of the implementation of SDG 14 and 15 by the Arctic Council member states», which was presented at the international forum «Russian Chairmanship in the Arctic Council — an environmental agenda for Russia and the world».
