Lepekhin Vladimir

First Chairman of the National Council (1992 – 1994).

1985 — graduated from the Philosophy Faculty of Moscow State University, specialty «sociology».

1985 – 1991 — PhD study. He taught political sociology at Moscow State University and was the Secretary of the Moscow State University Komsomol Committee for Ideology (1986-1988.).

1988 – 1989 — worked in the Central Committee of Komsomol.

1989 – 1991 — participant in the creation of various youth movements and parties. In order to examine the European Left he visited the UK, France, Poland, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark where he met with the leaders and members of student and labor uprisings of 1968 in Paris and Rome, as well as with the activists of the Polish trade union «Solidarity», raised funds in favor of the miners’ strike committees Kuzbass, giving speeches at the UK trade union organizations.

1990 —   head of the Socialist Youth,

December 1991 — head of The National Council of Youth and Children’s Associations of Russia.

1992 — joined the Board of Youth Affairs under the President of the Russian Federation.

1993 – 1995 — Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Public Associations and Religious Organizations. By federal law «On political parties» and «On Public Associations»; co-author of many other federal laws V. Lepekhin combined socio-political activities with journalism.

1992 – 1995  — columnist of «Komsomolskaya Pravda» and the weekly «Capital», political analyst, and then editor in chief of «Novaya Gazeta»,  chief editor of the journal «Representative Power».

1993 — was awarded with the title of «Man of the Year» in the category «journalism about politics» according to the Russian biographical Institute.

1996 – 2009 — worked mainly in television journalism. He was the producer of the socio-political programs «View», Head of Analytical Department «ORT», the main producer of the information broadcast «TVC», the head of the Analytical Directorate «First Channel», the director of analytical services STC «Star», the main editor of the program «Club of the senators» to «Russia» TV channel, etc.

Since 2010 — has become the head of the Institute of Eurasian Economic Community (IEEC).

Since 2012 — member of research council of the Russian Academy of Science on Eurasian economic integration.

Since March 2014 — project manager and commentator in «Russia today», coordinator of the club Zinoviev «Russia today» and Discussion Club of the World Russian People’s Council.  Author of over 200 scientific articles and more than a dozen books, including monographs «The laws of modernization» (2010), «Concept of modernization» (2011), «The acquisition of ideology» (2015).
