XV International Youth Camp «Dialogue»

CAMP FORMAT

International Youth Camp «Dialogue» is an educational communication platform on topical issues of building and promoting intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation, as well as for interaction and exchange of experience of young leaders from the Russian Federation, the CIS and other foreign countries, which are aimed at strengthening international relations, development of cultural exchange and formation of a global youth community.

The XV International Youth Camp «Dialogue» will be held on August 19-23, 2024 (arrival day is August 18, departure day is August 24) in the Kaluga region on the territory of Ethnographic Park-Museum «ETNOMIR» (http://ethnomir.ru).

The XV International Youth Camp «Dialogue» is a part of the Action Plan for 2023-2024 for the implementation of the CIS Strategy for International Youth Cooperation for 2021-2030.

AIM OF THE CAMP:

To organize an educational communication platform that brings together young leaders from the Russian Federation, the CIS and other foreign countries working in the field of intercultural dialogue and international youth cooperation in order to strengthen friendly and professional ties, consolidate experience, improve professional skills and competencies,  develop further cooperation and implement joint projects.

OBJECTIVES:

-to create conditions for the exchange of experience and the formation of a young leaders community from the Russian Federation, the CIS and other foreign countries interested in development of further cooperation and the joint projects implementation aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation;

-to increase participants’ intercultural competence and develop professional and cross-professional skills that contribute to the development and implementation of projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation;

-to promote the development and implementation of projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation;

-to present the experience, approaches and successful practices of the Russian Federation in the field of intercultural dialogue and international youth cooperation, talk about the existing opportunities and resources for implementing projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation.

PROGRAMME

The camp program will consist of four blocks:

Ø the business block will include panel discussions with with experts in the field of intercultural dialogue and international youth cooperation;

Ø the educational block will include lectures, trainings, workshops, business and role-playing games aimed at improving the intercultural competence of participants, as well as the development of professional and cross-professional skills that contribute to the development and implementation of projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation;

Ø the project laboratory will include work in teams and the development of joint projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation;

Ø the cultural block will include excursion and animation programme, creative workshops.

By decision of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, 2024 was declared the Year of the Volunteer Movement in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The key theme of the Camp in 2024 will be «Volunteering as a tool for intercultural interaction and the development of international youth cooperation». As part of the project laboratory, participants in teams will develop volunteer initiatives aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation.

PARTICIPANTS PROFILE

The XV International Youth Camp «Dialogue» will bring together 100 participants interested in expanding public relations and cooperation, as well as implementation of joint projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation. Participants will be represented by three main groups:

-60 young leaders from the Russian Federation;

-20 young leaders from the CIS member states;

-20 young leaders from other foreign countries.

A candidate to participate in the camp must meet the following criteria:

— be between 18 and 35 years of age;

— be a representative of a youth public organization / a representative of a student organization / a representative of a youth volunteer organization / a representative of an informal youth association / a representative of a youth initiative group / a young person who has a ready-made project or idea for a project aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and the development of international youth cooperation;

— be motivated to learn and participate actively in the Camp;

— have a desire to convey the knowledge and experience gained during the Camp, and the ability to initiate and implement joint project ideas;

— to be present throughout the entire Camp programme and participate in all elements of the programme;

— have the ability to work in Russian or English (speak fluently, conduct discussions, participate in discussions)[1].

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Dates: the camp will begin on August 19, 2024 at 09:00 (9 am) and end on August 23, 2024 at 22:00 (10 pm). The check-in day for all participants is August 18, 2024, and the check-out day is August 24, 2024.

Venue: ethnographic park-museum «ETNOMIR», Kaluga region, Russian Federation.

Working languages: Russian and English, with simultaneous translation.

Financial conditions for participation: the organizers will provide transfer from Moscow to the Camp site; accommodation in double, triple and four-bed rooms; food and cultural programme for all participants during the Camp.

The organizers will provide payment for travel from the airport/train station of the country of residence to the city of Moscow and back, as well as payment of the visa fee for foreign participants. Russian participants pay for travel to Moscow and back independently or at the expense of the sending organization.

The organizers will provide assistance in obtaining visas for foreign participants who may require it.

IMPORTANT: In case of missing elements of the Camp programme and frequent late delays, participants cover their own expenses for accommodation and food.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS

All interested candidates from other foreign countries are invited to fill in an online application form via the link until 23:59 Moscow time on August 5, 2024.

All participants will be selected by the organizers based on a completed application form and taking into account the unique experience of the participants, motivation and balanced diversity in the entire group. Selected applicants will receive additional information and preparation instructions no later than August 8, 2024.

ORGANIZERS

The XV International Youth Camp «Dialogue» is held jointly by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the National Youth Council of Russia and the Federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education «MIREA — Russian Technological University», which performs the functions of the Basic Organization of the CIS Member States for work with young people.
